To celebrate our first Age Without Limits Action Day this exhibition of photography celebrates the huge diversity across ages and shows there is no one way to grow old.
Have you ever considered that your language and actions might be inadvertently ageist? Or have you experienced ageism? With over half of people aged over 50 having experienced age discrimination in the last year, Age Without Limits, is launching an exhibition of age-positive photography to challenge people’s perceptions of what ageing looks like as part of their ‘Are you Ageist?’ campaign.
There is a lack of realistic representation of older age groups across society – and, where we do see older people, they are often portrayed in a way that reinforces negative stereotypes. These stereotypes drive ageist attitudes and a disconnect with being ‘old’. The Centre for Ageing Better, supported by Age UK, are working to change this through the exhibition which celebrates the huge diversity that exists across older age groups.
The exhibition is free to attend and booking is not required.
